Embryonic stem cells have been used to treat chronic diseases. The number of pluripotent stem cells applied, and the frequency of their applications have been improved.
Embryonic stem cells are said to be totipotent, derived from the blastocyst stage of early mammalian embryos. They can give rise to all tissues and their subsequent specialisations. Throughout the divisions that occur during embryonic development, there is a phase called blastocyst, which has an internal mass of cells surrounded by the trophectoderm.
