Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport (IATA: OPO, ICAO: LPPR) or simply Porto Airport is an international airport near Porto (Oporto), Portugal. It is located 11 km (6.8 mi) northwest of the centre of Porto, in the municipalities of Maia, Matosinhos and Vila do Conde.
Portugal was recently considered, by the World Travel Awards, the World’s Best Destination. Portugal history and culture, gastronomy and wines, are among the main attractions, not to mention the beaches, surfng, music festivals, golf, the varied landscapes and, above all, the Portuguese people, who are seen as affable, open and sincere.
Porto, the Healthy Masters city host, was selected as the best European destination in the years of 2012, 2014 and 2017. In 2012 and 2014, Porto was distinguished with the prestigious title of Best European Destination.
Porto was selected also as Best European Destination 2017, having competed against other great cities, such as London, Rome, and Berlin. More than half the votes came from outside of Portugal, meaning that there are Porto lovers all over the world.
Apart from these titles, the city of Porto has other titles. The city was also highlighted by Lonely Planet, in 2017, as one of the top 10 best value cities, and in the year of 2015, the city of Porto was also selected by the USA Today readers as the Best Under-the-radar Romantic Destination.
